5:00pm - 8:00pm at Jodi's place, 1601 Devaul Ranch Dr, San Luis Obispo, CA 93405
Hi all,
Get your questions ready, because on Monday evening, April 22nd, we will gather at Jodi's house to dust off those ageing and sexing skills. The purpose of this gathering is to:
Get in the mindset of the MAPS season
Review necessary information for safe and accurate operation
Converse about what knowledge we need to feel comfortable processing birds
We're getting pizza and salad, so please bring $10 (unless you are experiencing financial hardship)
There are a few topics to cover, which will give this session a bit of structure; however this is not going to be an overly formal "class". A more detailed set of topics is found here.
TOPICS
Logistics: Schedule, Visitors, CalPoly Students, State Parks, Avian Flu
Operations: Bird Safety, Processing, Feather Pull
Ageing our Top 10 Species (notes here)
Molt Terminology and Review
Overview of Data Types, the Datasheet (see MAPS Manual)
Photo Examples (probably!) and Photo Wishlist
Reach out with any questions you'd like me to record in our 'agenda' and/or write down your own questions to bring up on Monday.
See you then!!
