Period 10 - August 3rd, 2023

Updated: Mar 27, 2025

Posting in January... better late than never! Banding summary below, and more photos to come when I am back stateside (mid-March). Also, please let me know if I've gotten the attendance list wrong! It's been a while...

A day ruled by the Wrentit! Did you know Wrentits rarely travel more than 1300 feet from where they were born? For reference, the distance between the banding table and net 4 is about 1200 feet, as the crow (...and everything else) flies.

Two California Thrashers caught on this day reassured us that our weighing apparatus (erm... Pringles can...) would suffice, until further innovations come to light. It was a delicate affair that required a Thrasher's stillness, as I recall!

We took zero feathers for the Genoscape project on this day, oops. Perhaps one of us can make a point of remembering this to help the group!
