Period 2 - May 13th 2023

Updated: Jun 7, 2023

For this session, we were fortunate enough to host an exceptional bander and biologist, Jessica Griffiths. She is a wealth of knowledge and a great teacher; thank you for your contribution! Hopefully you can join us again soon.

Guest bander Dean Cutter of Capitola joined us as well, showing that extraction is in fact just like riding a bike.

A Nashville Warbler caused quite a stir in visiting out station; the first of its kind to ever visit Powell II! It was so unexpected, we nerded out long and hard to settle on what we were looking at. See photos below!

It was a good day for quail... not that we were aiming for that...

We witnessed an "egg in the shoot" (egg in the oviduct); not to be confused with other anatomy...!

Replying to

Right before you left, you said, 'You're going to get something really cool after I leave'

You called it!
