Period 5 - June 17th 2023

Zero hummingbirds this week, in contrast to the 8 we caught last period. Guess they're onto us.

This week's theme was baby Song Sparrows; a whopping 15 of them. Orange-crowned Warblers were also caught in relatively high number (12).

The Black-headed Grosbeak was looking handsome.

As the dirty bags piled up, we got the feeling we were headed for a season record. Indeed we were: 71 birds caught!

Clint accepted his Distinguished Scholar award at Cal Poly's 2023 Commencement Ceremony, presumably with bird poop still under his fingernails. We are grateful for his devotion to the station!
