Apologies for the delay all, let's see if I can remember what happened!
Ah yes. Baby Quail day. Baby Song Sparrow day (one of many). Oak Titmouse day!
Temperatures are on the rise, and the ground is drying out. It's getting increasingly difficult to hammer in our poles but we plow ahead nonetheless.
I've found that the change in vegetation has been surprisingly fun to observe; where wildflowers once littered the ground, we are now dragging our boots through rope-like mustard stems, and the poison oak is glistening. Our trail-marker-thistle between net 15 and 14 is now a crusty shell of its former self.
We had a couple of new faces: CalTrans biologists Shelby and AnnMarie. Thank you for joining us!
